Jul 14 - Jul 18    Fenton Zonta Club's Safety Town

Safety town is a comprehensive safety education program that introduces safety awareness and preventive procedures to preschool children.  Bill Cosby serves as the national honorary chairman.

The curriculum includes all aspects of safety…strangers-poisons-fire-bicycles-railroad crossings-but=playground-toys-water-traffic-child safety seats-animals and more.  Your child will learn through their won involvement under the guidance of instructors.  This program consists of indoor classroom activities where your child can observe and participate in safety activities.

To register for Safety Town your child should:
  • Be 4 or 5 years old
  • Should be entering kindergarten in September
  • You will be responsible for getting your child to the sessions

The Safety Town schedule includes 3 sessions a day.  For your convenience you can choose which session, morning, afternoon, or evening, will work best for your schedule.  Please keep in mind that the morning session is always the first to fill up.

Safety Town 2014 runs from July 14th through July 18th.  The 3 available session times are:

  • Morning Session: 9:00 – 12:00
  • Afternoon Session: 1:00 – 4:00
  • Evening Session: 5:00 – 8:00

Love the Ladies Cuts for Cancer is a benefit for Breast Cancer Awareness in honor of a couple of our stylists friends and family who suffer or have suffered with breast cancer. Jul 20    Old Newsboys' 90th Anniversary Celebration
The Old Newsboys of Flint will host their 90th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre. Tickets are $50 each or $90 per pair. They can be purchased by calling the Old Newsboys office at 810.744.1840. Proceeds from the event will support the Old Newsboys Christmas Program. Since 1924, the Old Newsboys have put gifts under the tree for more than 787,000 needy children across Genesee County. Thousands of children have received coats and shoes through their Warm Hearts Healthy Starts Program, and hundreds more have been served through the Emergency Box Program.

The Fenton Chamber Ambassador Group will deliver lunch to you Thursday, July 24
(orders need to be received by 4:00pm Tuesday, July 22nd). 
You get a great meal, delivered at a ridiculously low price; all while helping this dedicated group of Fenton Chamber Ambassadors raise money for attendance to the 1st Annual Chamber Convention in October 2014.
